  • Staying Healthy

    Staying healthy is important for everyone. There are many ways to keep our bodies healthy.

    Eating fruits and vegetables is good for our health. They give us vitamins and energy. Drinking water is also important. It helps our bodies stay hydrated.

    Exercise is another way to stay healthy. You can go for a walk, ride a bike, or play sports. Exercise helps keep our bodies strong and fit.

    Getting enough sleep is essential for our health too. Sleep helps us feel rested and ready for the day.

    Washing our hands with soap and water is a simple way to stay healthy. It helps prevent getting sick and spreading germs.

    Visiting the doctor for check-ups is important. Doctors can help us stay healthy and give us advice about our health.

    Remember, staying healthy means taking care of our bodies every day.

    3. Essential: What is needed for something to function or succeed.

    4. Spreading: The act of distributing over an area or surface.

    5. Germs: Microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses, that can cause disease or infection.

    6. Check-ups: Regular examinations or inspections, often conducted by a healthcare professional, to assess one's health and identify potential issues.

Staying Healthy

  • Step 1: Introduce the topic of Health.  Talk about what people usually do to stay healthy. Introduce terms like exercise, diet, taking care of your self, etc 

    Step 2: Have the students discuss the warm-up questions and ask for some answers to have conversations. 

    Step 3: Introduce the article. Have your students read aloud and go through the vocabulary. 

    Step 4: Have the students complete the vocabulary worksheet before the reading or after the reading. This will depend on teacher preferences.  

    Step 5: Let the students discuss the discussion questions and elicit answers from them after they are done. You should get them to use the vocabulary in their discussions.   ​
