    Customs: Practices, behaviors, or rituals that are commonly followed or observed within a specific culture or community.

    Traditions: Beliefs, customs, or practices passed down from generation to generation within a society or group.

    Signify: To indicate, symbolize, or express meaning or significance.

    Reenacting: Acting out or recreating a past event, story, or tradition, often to recreate historical or cultural experiences.

  • Step 1: Introduce the topic of Holi Festival and ask if anyone has heard of it or participated in it. Introduce terms like, celebration, traditions, joyful, cheerful, etc.

    Step 2: Have the students discuss the warm-questions and ask for some answers after they are done to create conversations.

    Step 3: Play the recording and have the students listen and fill in the gaps with the missing words. 

    Step 4: Have the students complete the vocabulary worksheet before the reading or after the reading. This will depend on teacher preferences.  

    Step 5: Let the students discuss the discussion questions and elicit answers from them after they are done. You should get them to use the vocabulary in their discussions.
